What Is Mental Health?

Updated: Jun 4

Mental health is defined as a person’s emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It typically affects how individuals act, think, and feel, influencing their ability to make decisions, handle stress, and interact with others.

Everyone experiences mental health challenges differently. While some individuals may be able to manage certain challenges, others may not. It is essential to understand the impact mental health can have on one’s life. Many life events can trigger someone's mental health to become unstable, such as being neglected at a young age, the loss of a loved one, abuse, and more. If a person’s mental health is affected, it could lead to mental illness.

Although we all face different challenges in life, we are all the same in one way: we all have obstacles that we face. We must stay informed and understand why we should research mental health. In addition, we should check on each other, ensuring that our family members and friends are okay and have a strong, caring support system. Let’s spread awareness about mental health and recognize its importance in our lives.
